Lamson Velocity X Sage Spectrum 8wt Outfit

One of our favorite redfish outfits for under $900. The Lamson Velocity 8wt is a well balanced, accurate casting rod, perfect for shorter to midrange shots; ideal for sight casting redfish. Paired with the Velocity, the Sage Spectrum 7/8 offers a sealed drag system, great for saltwater angling, as well as CNC machined and anodized aluminum for great durability. The fly line we chose for this outfit is the Scientific Anglers Mastery Saltwater, a good all around taper for a variety of different types of saltwater angling. There is 250 yards of white, 20lb Cortland Micron backing underneath the SA line and a 9' 16lbs tapered leader from Rio. The fly included with the outfit is the Simple Crab from Umpqua in Olive/Brown.
